First, we gathered basic supplies such as white cardstock, markers, scissors, and a glue stick. I printed the base and roof design templates from the Printables section of the curriculum file. Then, Alyssa colored the roof and carefully cut the dark, exterior lines. She glued the tabs together to create a cone shaped roof top. Next, my daughter cut and glued the two base edges together. She designed and colored the base. She wrote Mongolia on the yurt. Finally, she glued the last edges of the base together to form a circle and assembled it by adding the roof to the top.

ReplyDeleteThat is an adorable Yurt! We had a Heifer International farm near us that had a small global village in one section of the farm that showed how some of the people lived around the world and I think they had a yurt. Thanks for sharing with us at the Virtual Refrigerator. Pinned.
