Random Five on Friday (May 17th)

Hello Everyone! I wanted to do a quick post about our week. Not much has happened other than school and packing. Mother's Day was wonderful! Jeff and I recognized our 14th anniversary this year. We haven't been able to do anything special in order to celebrate, but we enjoyed watching a movie on the couch together. Thank you Alyssa for setting up the couch for our special evening and for watching a movie in your room. We'll probably celebrate for "real" in August. You see . . . we were married once at the preacher's house and then we had the wedding a year or so later. Long story.

There has been a lot of house progress this week so I will share updated photographs. Things are coming along rather quickly now that the countertops are installed. We ordered our appraisal and hope we'll be able to close on time. We are waiting to hear back from them. Here is my Random Five on Friday article for this week.

1.) Our countertops were finally installed! Yah! No more stressing about this situation. Here is the link to my post containing various photographs of the kitchen countertops.

The classroom which is separate from the house has sheetrock on the walls now. My hubby will be painting them soon. Then, he'll stain the concrete. The bathroom door is not installed yet as seen in the photo. I will set-up and organize this room ASAP so that Alyssa and I can school year round.

The carpet in the bedrooms of the house was also installed this week. It looks absolutely wonderful! It is a neutral color and meshes well with stained concrete.

2.) I am falling behind on my Meet Jesus Bible study. I get discouraged and give up when this happens. I need to stay strong and follow through with my plans. We'll see what happens. I need to play catch-up sometime soon. I am consistently getting up early, but lately I lack the initiative to get anything accomplished early in the morning. I have sooo much to do yet I am easily distracted. Changing my night owl tendencies is going to take some time.

3.) We are going to a birthday party tomorrow. I look forward to the break from school and packing. I can't wait to see Alyssa playing with her friends (Logan and Lily). Jeff and I haven't seen our friends in months! It'll be great spending time with everyone.

4.) I am currently working on two reviews. My Scaredy Cat Reading System review should be done by Sunday or Monday. I recently found out that we made the review list for Moving Beyond the Page. I can't wait for a summer full of learning and fun!

5.) I attended the Mommy Time Facebook party this week. I believe they are planning another in Mommy Time Facebook Party in August. I am definitely attending, because it was one of the best Facebook parties I ever attended! It lasted four hours but the information and homeschooling advice shared was worth it. Many thanks to Jill, Sarah, Tabitha, and Amber! Not to mention, there are some pretty amazing giveaways. Be sure to subscribe to Sidetrack Sarah's Homeschool Survival blog to receive exclusive freebies. I am not letting the cat out of the bag. You'll have to head on over there to hear about the news yourself.

I will link this post up at Random 5 on Friday hosted by Miranda at The Pebble Pond. Please join the fun and link up your random five thoughts, facts, or occurrences. I will also link this post at The Homeschool Mother's Journal at iHomeschool Network and Weekly Wrap-Up at Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers.
